Why Hoi Yan

Thoughtfully Arranged for Comfort and Community

Everything here is shaped around the idea that later life should be comfortable, social and culturally nourishing — on your own terms.

No Pressure, Ever

Joining activities is always a choice. Hosts are there to welcome; residents decide how much or how little they take part, day by day.

Small Groups, Real Connections

Groups are kept deliberately small so that familiar faces become friends, and new company never feels overwhelming.

Cantonese Cultural Roots

Programmes draw on Cantonese traditions — opera, calligraphy, seasonal observances — so residents feel genuinely at home.

Good Food, Shared at Table

Residents in the full-board plan dine together in a relaxed setting. Meals follow Hong Kong seasonal rhythms and dietary preferences.

Garden and Open Spaces

Our garden in Sha Tin is a calming place to sit, stroll or simply watch the seasons pass — no appointment needed.

Clear, Transparent Pricing

Monthly plans with no hidden charges — what you see is what you pay, so families can plan with confidence.

Common Questions

Things Families Often Ask

What kind of residence is Hoi Yan — is it a care home?
Hoi Yan is a non-medical lifestyle community. We do not provide nursing or clinical care. Our focus is on social connection, cultural activities and comfortable furnished living for seniors who are living independently and would welcome good company and a supportive environment.
Can my parent try a plan before committing to a full month?
We welcome a visit or a short introductory stay so that your family member can see whether Hoi Yan feels right. Please contact us and we will discuss the options that make most sense for your situation.
Are the social activities compulsory?
No. Residents choose entirely for themselves how much they join in. Our hosts keep the room welcoming but never push anyone to participate. Some residents are with us every session; others prefer quieter days and step in now and then. Both are perfectly fine.
Can family members visit and join meals?
Family visits are warmly welcome at any reasonable time. Dining with a resident can be arranged with a little notice — please let staff know beforehand so the kitchen can prepare accordingly.
What does the monthly plan include for the Residence option?
The Residence and Lifestyle Plan at HK$3,720 per month covers a furnished room, regular housekeeping, laundry service, full dining (three meals daily), and open access to the garden, social circles and cultural studio activities. There are no separate charges for attending activities included in the plan.
Is personal information kept private?
Yes. Resident details are held in confidence and used only for the purposes of providing our services and communicating with the resident or their designated family contact. We comply with Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
